New York Harley Rendezvous

A Harley Rendezvous is an annual gathering of Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts that takes place in New York.

This year the Harley Rendezvous is from Aug. 16 through Aug. 18 at Indian Lookout Country Club in Pattersonville, New York. Harley enthusiasts spend several days together checking out bike shows, going for rides, talking about their hobby, entering contests, eating and listening to live entertainment.

The Harley Rendezvous also has a series of contests for attendees. Attendants can win prizes for the best custom bike show, the best antique bike, the best tattoo and many other contests. The prizes are a good incentive for the riders to get involved in their bikes and the riding atmosphere.

Tickets for the event usually go on sale at least a year before the next year's event. Anyone who wants to become a Charter Member can show up to the Rendezvous with their ticket and contact information. As soon as that person's paperwork gets filed they get a Harley Rendezvous ID number. This basically gets the person on the mailing list so they don't miss any Harley events. Once they're completely registered, they get a Charter Member card and bumper sticker. The card allows them to get a discount ticket at next year's event.

The Harley Rendezvous Event

The Harley Rendezvous is an event that serious Harley riders look forward to every year. The event organizers want to create the best Rendezvous they can and are willing to take suggestions from Rendezvous attendees. For example, riders can recommend that a specific band play at the Rendezvous. There's no guarantee that the band will be allowed to play, but event organizers will listen to demo tapes sent to Rendezvous head quarters.

Event attendees can also set up a food tent, but they have to get it cleared with event organizers first. A menu and tent layout have to be submitted to Rendezvous headquarters in order to be considered for a retail space. Retail space is also allotted for official Harley Rendezvous gear. This gear is designed and set up by event organizers. If someone misses the event they can order this gear from the Harley Rendezvous newsletter that is sent out after the event.

Harley Rendezvous Rules and Regulations

As with any large event, the Harley Rendezvous has several rules and regulations. The event organizers ask attendees to follow very simple rules. For example, anyone with a pull behind trailer that can't be carried by a bike needs to have a permit. They also don't want attendees to speed race, drive recklessly or drag race on the grounds. This prevents injury and destruction to the grounds.

They also ask that common sense be followed. For example, people should use trashcans, leave their dogs at home so there's no extra messes and keep glass containers at home. People who do not follow the rules for the Harley Rendezvous will not be asked to attend the following year.
